Čutová, Jana
The bachelor's thesis deals with the effects of Covid-19 on society and tourism on the island of Bali. Based on the literature, the basic concepts of tourism, the Covid-19 pandemic, the characteristics of the selected area are explained and then the impacts of Covid-19 on tourism are identified from the point of view of the residents of the Czech Republic living in Bali. The aim of the work was to outline how the situation affected tourism and how it affected life on the island. The presented work depicts a decrease in foreign tourists and a significant increase in unemployment. Furthermore, the impacts are analyzed in terms of qualitative data obtained based on the results of semistructured interviews with Czech-speaking residents of the island of Bali. The obtained results show that the situation has greatly affected life in Bali in terms of the established government regulations, which have restricted movement in public places, suspended international and domestic tourism and closed public spaces. The implemented measures subsequently led to the loss of employment and previous income. Based on the chosen method, it is evaluated that the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have significantly affected tourism and strongly affected the economic and socio-economic sphere.

Šenkyříková, Nikol ; Pokorný, Ondřej (advisor) ; Petrů, Tomáš (referee)
The Bachelor thesis deals with the development and changes of Balinese vernacular architecture in the 20th century. This thesis is supported by my own field research which was realized through semi- structured interviews. The main aim of this work is to objectively assess the extent to which during the last century the concept of a traditional architecture on the island of Bali has been distinguished from its original form. I focused not only to changes of construction but also in terms of religion and the relationship between human and his dwelling. For comparison, I have chosen four houses from different time periods. The first of these houses is maintained in its original form and works as an open-air museum. The second and third house are still retaining the original construction but the design has been modernized and there are also some innovations that undermine the principles based on traditional methodology Asta Kosala Kosali. The last building is a modern town house which has been already significantly diverged but also there are some original features, for example decorations or sacred spaces. Comparing these four objects I am referring to changes in terms of Asta Kosala Kosali, thereby the concept of the traditional Balinese house brings me to the current situation of construction of Balinese...

Steinbachová, Eva ; Soukup, Václav (advisor) ; Uherek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Soukup, Martin (referee)
Dissertation thesis "Temple architecture as a cultural core in Southeast Asia" presents the temple architecture of Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesian islands of Java and Bali as a cultural phenomenon which opens possibility to observe Hindu and Buddhists cultural continuity in Southeast Asia. The main focus of the work is in the culturological analysis of the temple architecture as a semiotic system - associated symbols and meanings in close relations, reflecting the ideological foundations of Hindu and Buddhist culture. This study follows the works of orientalists and anthropologists and it extends the Czech bibliography, which traditionally lacks of topics in church architecture of Southeast Asia. This study does not claim to cover the topic in a full universal view. It is guided by an effort to map the issues in culturological terms and help to a deeper understanding of cultural heritage of East Asian culture as part of the cultural heritage of mankind. Keywords: Architecture, Southeast Asia, Buddhism, Hinduism, Java, Bali, Thailand, Cambodia.
